Wow, SO many good times were had as I sit back and think about my winter get-away to Lake Tahoe at the end of January. As you can see, you can't really beat the scenery and combine that with one of my all time favorite activities (skiing...duh), great company, and an endless supply of booze- well my friends, that is a recipe for an AMAZING vacation! Lake Tahoe is perhaps one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and would love to venture back in the summer at some point in my life.
In the mean time, I'll start off by describing the various events that went down. We skied at all three Vail Resorts in California/Nevada- Northstar, Heavenly, and Kirkwood. We flew into Reno and rented a car to take us the rest of the way. Rob and I were the first to arrive so rather than spend the rest of the morning and most of the afternoon in fabulous Reno, Nevada waiting on the rest of the crew, we decided to kill a few hours by getting our pow pow on at Northstar Ski Resort in California (an hour or so drive from the airport).

We got a good 3-4 hours of skiing in before we headed back to Reno to meet the rest of our 8 person crew at Costco to load up on groceries for the week, where we may or may not have gone a bit overboard. I mean, who would have thought that in a week we would have not plowed through that gallon o' mayo or those 2 gallon jars of syrup for our ginormous bag of pancake mix meant to feed 96!? We did; however, go through 168 beers, 14 bottles of wine, 4.5 handles of hard liquor, a bottle of hard apple cider and 80-some fruit snacks. That $800-some dollars was well spent, if I do say so myself!

And, just to clarify- we did NOT spend all that money on booze! We got other things too- like 10 pounds of chicken, 32 yogurts, 96 slices of lunch meat, hamburger meat (8 pounds grounded and 36 whole patties..just in case) a 1/2 gallon of cottage cheese, 20 very unripe bananas (they still weren't ripe by the end of the week), 10 pounds of bacon, three or four economy-size 30-packs of Emergen-C, and the equivalent of 2 boxes of Cheerios. Needless to say, we spent hardly any money on food/booze the rest of the week due to that lovely evening at Costco! In my eyes, that is money well spent!
For the most part, the rest of the week was pretty much as follows: breakfast, ski, aprés-ski, hot tub time machine, drinking games, dinner, drinking games, casino, sleep, wake up, repeat!

|You can ski in two states on the same mountain!|
Perhaps one of my biggest fears is somehow losing a ski. I mean, what do you do when you take off your skis (to perform a human pyramid, for example) and one happens to be pointed downward and streamlines down the mountain? Well, there is not really much you can do because unlike you, skis are aerodynamic and have gravity on their side. Your likelihood of catching it is about 0...as Rob figured out. Lucky for him, this part of the mountain was not that steep and as you can see, there were a lot of trees which prevented it from going too far. We found his ski in a congregation of trees, 100-200 yards down the mountain:
I tried to get a video of Rob attempting to ski down on one ski (which was very entertaining), but I was too late! I did; however, manage to catch him almost get sideswiped by a snowboarder:
While engaging in our little aprés ski hour, we were blessed to have this little gem as part of our entertainment, who allegedly made eye contact with Rob and may or may not have been J. Lo's or Pitbull's backup dancer at one point:

|Rough morning- if we knew all we needed was a beer to bring us back to equilibrium, we could have saved a few hours of complaining about how miserable we felt. The afternoon was amazing though and at least we got to see a few Asian dolphins!|

So many hilarious memories! These were only a few and I don't want to bore you with all the inside stuff. A few things I will add though- I don't think I can express how amazed I was with Katie and Melissa's wine drinking ability. I think I had a total of one bottle, after I insisted that 10 was just not enough. They literally drank all of this! Guess I am not as big of a wine-o as I thought!
I will never forget our favorite avalanche dog:
